Mason Tennis Classic, Sunday, July 13, 1997 (report
by YK's mom)
I am soooo upset! We went to see Michael at the Regency Sport & Health
Club in McLean VA (actually we and his family were heading there at
the same time from DC on Sunday) and I missed his signing! There was
only a limited number of spaces for the tennis clinic and being a non
player I only showed up as a spectator. As daddy and WH [YK's bro] were
players, we had to split up after Michael and Carl did their exhibition
match--extremely close up to the audience. We actually sat around the
tennis court within a few feet from them. What I didn't know was that
after I left for the main floor glass windows, some other people followed
them up to the 4th floor with the rest of the players. It must have
been running late, the brothers didn't do a tennis clinic but just answered
questions from the poeple who had signed up. Even though the club announced
at the beginning that there would be no signing, he did it anyway upon
the people's request! Daddy had a chance to talk to both Michael and
Carl. But I was the one who was holding YK's A. Magazine and picture
with Michael, as well as the newly arrived posters from HK! I was "the
only" person who had the equipment for this occasion--but stranded at
the wrong place!! All the kids just had him autograph the balls they
picked up from the racket club.
