THIS MONTH:
At the last minute, Michael entered the singles AND doubles brackets
of the River Oaks tournament in Houston, Texas, a non-ATP Tour event
that he has not competed in since 1989. Unfortunately, he lost in
the singles second round to Richey Reneberg, and the doubles second
round with partner Sargis Sargsian of Armenia. Then Michael did it
again - after telling reporters in Houston that his next tournament
would be Monte Carlo, Michael decided to enter the galleryfurniture.com
clay court tournament as a wild card. Michael won this tournament
twice in '94 and '95 when it used to be called the AT&T Challenge.
This year, he reached the semifinals. He then competed in the Monte
Carlo Open in Monaco, where he bowed out in the first round. © 1997-2002 The Man MC |
