Michael's News: August/September 2000

OLYMPIC RINGS: Michael completed his Olympic bid in Sydney, Australia, losing in the opening round. He was named to the U.S. Olympic team along with Jeff Tarango, Vince Spadea, Todd Martin, Jared Palmer and Alex O'Brien.

EARLIER THIS MONTH: Michael bowed out in the opening round of the Cincinnati and subsequently decided to enter one more hardcourt event before the U.S. Open. He played in the Hamlet Cup in Long Island, N.Y., and beat Patrick Rafter before bowing out to Arnaud Clement. At the Open, he lost in the second round to Todd Martin.
